Our Gayla/Auction/Concert is on Feb. 4, 2018 but planning starts for it in May 2017.

Pizza Klatch is a local nonprofit that provides facilitated lunchtime support groups for LGBTQ+ youth and allies in our local high schools and in some of our middle schools.

We are looking for interns who are:

  • Dependable
  • Responsible
  • Comfortable working with and reaching out to others
  • Can work independently while under the guidance of a supervisor
  • Comfortable with Google Doc spreadsheets so information is kept up to date

Work Study Position (Paid):

Evergreen Gayla Assistant

The work study candidate will work under the supervision of the Executive Director and the Pizza Klatch Gayla Chair to support organizational needs and event logistics. This candidate will gain hands on experience in event coordination, marketing, volunteer coordination, and administrative duties in a nonprofit setting. This position will serve as a vital support for the administrative staff and event staff by assisting in organizational fundraising, outreach and donations; donor research, systems support and database management and entry.
This position requires detailed oriented individual with a strong ability to multitask. All applicants should be committed to the mission, vision and values of PK, specifically, reducing bullying and eliminating suicide by helping make schools safer for LGBTQ youth.

Wage/Salary: 12.00/hour
Hours per week: 10

The Evergreen State College Gayla Work Study Application


Volunteer Position:

Weekly Facilitator

As a facilitator, we’ll train you to provide safe and confidential in-school support groups for LGBTQ+ Youth and Allies in Thurston County high schools. Pizza Klatch brings the pizza, the youth bring their bravery, and together we hold meaningful conversations. Pizza Klatch helps build resiliency and wellbeing for LGBTQ+ youth while helping to create a safer and more supportive school environment.We’re looking for folks who are:

  • Passionate about empowering LGBTQ+ youth
  • Experienced in working with LGBTQ+ teens and/or marginalized youth
  • Available to volunteer weekly at a Thurston County High School during lunch
  • Compassionate, great listener and communicator
  • Aware of the complexity of LGBTQ+ issues in today’s society

In addition, you must meet the following requirements:

  • 21 years of age or 3 years out of high school by the time school year begins
  • Be aware that due to conflict of interest, objectivity and confidentiality, facilitators shall not facilitate groups at schools where a child, dependent or family member goes to school
  • Fill out necessary background check forms with Pizza Klatch and each school district
