Cameron Combs (he/him)
Cameron Combs has been a Pizza Klatch facilitator since 2010 and is currently a member of the Board of Directors. A lifelong resident of the Olympia area, Cameron has been involved in community organizing and social activism much of his adult life. His interests include fiction writing, youth empowerment and taking pictures of cool cloud patterns. Cameron currently facilitates at Tumwater High School, his alma mater (class of ’82).
Nix is a 21 year old genderfluid queer writer, student, and facilitator at Avanti High School. When not busy with dozens of projects, Nix likes to write poetry and take walks downtown to see how many dogs they can befriend. Nix is a junior at Evergreen and studies political economy and social movements. If they grow up, they want to work with nonprofit organizations specifically aimed towards youth empowerment and queer liberation.
I have been facilitating Pizza Klatch at River Ridge High School for 5 years. As an older lesbian I think I bring my own unique perspective to RRPK and I am very fortunate to be able to learn from the youth in our group each week. I have grown children and grandchildren and I live with my wife and our teenage daughter.
JennyAnn Wheeler (she/her)
I’ve lived in Olympia for almost 30 years. I graduated from TESC in 1997 and have worked as an advocate for youth in various settings and as a parent educator. I am a mother, partner, artist, volunteer and homemaker. I’m honored to support youth through volunteerism with Pizza Klatch!
Marissa Rathbone (she/her)
Marissa serves as a facilitator at Black Hills High School. She is also a member of the Pizza Klatch Board of Directors and Gayla Leadership Team. Marissa cares deeply for the emotional health and wellbeing of all youth. She is able to support this cause as a PK volunteer and as the Program Supervisor for Health and Physical Education at the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Phil Paroian (he/him)
Phil has a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Most of his career has been dedicated to overseeing the investment of pension funds and endowment funds. Personally, Phil has been an out gay man since the 1980’s & has performed with Singing Out! – the Lesbian and Gay Chorus of Toronto, the Columbus Gay Mens Chorus, and the Seattle Mens Chorus. He is a self-confessed math geek, book geek, and theatre geek and proud to be part of Pizza Klatch to make area high schools a better environment for all students.
I’m an Admissions Counselor at The Evergreen State College. In my free time, I enjoy hot yoga, hiking, theatre, and pining after dogs.
